| The campus of my University, UCSD, has of late been haunted by a menacing beast. There was originally one bird, now 3 birds that attack (in actuality they are probably playing with) students as they walk down a specific set of steps at the Price Center on campus. Today I spent about 15 minutes laughing my head off as unsuspecting students were pecked on the head walking up and down the forbidden steps. Attached is a couple pictures captured on my cell phone of this. The girl is literally ducked and running from a bird that could fit in the palm of my hand. You can see the bird as it continues to run into the back of her head. Enjoy.

| Life has been more excitement than I can take lately. In the midst of the San Diego fires last week, Sarah decided to go and get bit. In the middle of the night. While she slept. By a BLACK WIDOW. yeah, thats right. I had never experienced a black widow bite before (I still haven't, now only vicariously through my wife, Rambo) She is the toughest woman I have ever met. She woke me up at about 2 am and said "Brian, I think I was bit by a Black widow" She showed me the spider, which she had crushed IN HER HAND! and it was definitely a black widow. I'll post pictures if Patricia hasn't thrown it out yet :) Either way, she was in serious pain and when the pain started traveling up her arm into her chest we went to the ER. We sat in the ER for 2 hours waiting until my wife decided she didn't want to wait anymore. "The pain in my arm is starting to lessen, lets go home" Thats what she said. (we had already called poison control, and we had some reason to believe she'd survive with her symptoms) That was 3.5 days ago, and shes doing fine. My wife is THE MAN! | | |
| Hello friends and family,
Just wanted to send out an update. We're safe, yesterday we got our pre-evacuation call, telling us to pack our things and be ready to leave our house in a moments notice. So we did, pack our necessities, Sarah's wedding dress, a few pictures and some clothes. As the day went on, it looked very likely that we would be called with a mandatory evacuation. (we were already on voluntary evacuation) The fires were south-east of us moving west. At about 10:00 am the sky was total smoke cover, thick and brown, except for a sliver of bright horizon to the east. The winds were moving it towards us, but in the late afternoon the winds shifted, taking the "active" fires south of us. So, as of now, we're home, and unless the winds shift back or a new fire starts up, we'll probably stay. But its too early to say anything for sure.
Just wanted everyone to know we're safe, if we have to evacuate our home, we'll probably have 30 mins to an hour before we REALLY have to be out, because the firefighters are giving warning. :)

| I have a job. (for now)
Costco: hard work, weird hours, polish sausages... I'm enjoying it.

| Tomorrow. I have an interview tomorrow. A real interview. Its with Costco, for seasonal support. But its pretty much a shoe-in (I think) and it has really good chances of becoming permanent placement. :) Pray for me.
I know some of you do, and I appreciate you.
